Urawa Art Museum

Urawa Art Museum opened in the spring of 2000. It is conveniently located in the city center near Urawa Station. Urawa, the capital of Saitama Prefecture, has a long history as a city of education. With collection themes familiar to the people of the region and through its various programs, Urawa Art Museum aims to provide opportunities for the creation of new culture in Urawa. It is hoped that the museum will continue to grow in the future and that it can be a place in which people enjoy being and feel at home.

Collections

Urawa Art Museum collect works of art as outlined in the following collection descriptions.

Works of Urawa
Artists Since the modern era, many artists have resided in Urawa. Their various activities have resulted in a flourishing art culture. Prominent works of art by these Urawa artists and other related works from both Japan and abroad are collected, preserved, researched and exhibited. The pieces will become a legacy for the future.

Art of Books
The museum collects fascinating works of art relating to books, such as books created by artists and works of art with a book theme. Books are familiar to everyone and have depth and width.
